Hello Babblers - I'm a very excited new owner of a 2001 S :D (picture should be attached). Would like to say 'hello' to the Babbler community, and also thank mikefocke for his posting on how to purchase a used Boxster -- very, very helpful. I look forward to participating in the community.

I like the wheels...chromed Turbos. Have you considered getting the orange turn signals (front and rear) and side lamps changed to clear? Easy to do, just takes a few bucks.
 
Thanks - the turbos were chomed after market but look like they were factory. Had not thought about the clear lenses but bet they'd look way better than the orange (saw on a 911 the other day) - I'm assuming you have on your '01. Do you have a photo that shows the clear on the Boxster? Here are a couple more photos.

They are nice. I may have to consider getting mine chromed. I have pictures of a before shot of my '01 and the after (lights, aero mods) pictures in the Babblers Gallery. Click on "Gallery" in the header at the top of the page, click on "Babblers Photo Albums", click on my ID, "cease", you'll see several before and after shots.
 
Nice look. Where would you recommend I shop for the clear signal parts - any estimate on cost? Easy to install?
 
I'm sure you will, but be sure to check prices at the various places quoted above for the clear parts. I found a lot of difference from one dealer/supplier to another. Total cost to add head and tail lights and clear side markers was about $1600. The bulk of that being the Litronic clears. Litronics are a bit more than just clear regular head lights, but well worth it. I've not yet hooked up my low beam control box, but plan to do that when it gets warmer here in the frigid north.
