On a business trip in Europe I had seen a few Boxster’s with a modified lens cover. I had not seen the covers in the States and I thought that the cover changed the appearance of the front of the car dramatically. Before I had taken delivery of my 2004 Boxster “S” I began searching for ways to make mine unique for my tastes and to also make it have that “one of a kind look” we all want to have.
On E-Bay I located a company that sold the pieces that I was looking for and ordered them prior to taking delivery on the headlight and taillight trim pieces. The pieces come in black and they can be painted to patch the trim of the car. My “S” is Speed Yellow, and even though the interior is black, I painted them to match the exterior paint.
The cost for the headlight and taillight trim pieces were less than $120, and the body shop that I use including painting some other interior trim pieces (more on that modification later) for $175.
It took about 20 minutes to apply the trim. Each piece included double backed tape.
