Sure - if we want to meet a little earlier and get coffee... there's a Starsbuck off of 92 in Foster City (Foster City Blvd exit). For folks coming on 101, you'd get on 92 East and take 2nd exit (last exit b4 bridge).

Caveat is that we have to finish the coffee before driving - I tried taking coffee somewhere, and had the hardest time to keep it from spilling.

Hey having coffee before we go sounds good to me..I'll be there @ 8am so we have enough time to finish up the coffee and get our adrenaline fix before we drive :D anyone else who's meeting with us?

Coming from 101 San Jose, w/c exit should I take?

It's early enough so I'll just stay up the whole night, and get some sleep during the drive :eek:

101 N -> 92 East -> Foster City Blvd Exit -> Follow the road RIGHT onto Metro Center Blvd -> Starbucks on your left

When you take the exit, there's an OSH right in front of you, that's where you follow the road to the right. Starbucks is on your left before the 1st signal. At the signal (Shell Blvd), there's a Costco on your right. Make a U-turn to Starbucks.

Try not to be late. I have to give out the drive packets and start the short drivers meeting at 9:10 am, so we can leave by 9:30 am.
F.Y.I., from Starbucks in Foster City, it should take 25 minutes to get up on Skyline to Alice's, BTW it is a nice drive. Look out for the cops!

I'm trying to get some gift certificate to AJ's Auto Detailing here in San Jose for our trip but I haven't heard from them..like what I said, hopefully it goes thru.

no...a bbig thanks to you for being...ahhhh, what's the word, compelled of getting the maps..hehehehehehe! I think it's going to be crowded coz' the other forums are doing the same thing..meeting at Alice's between 9 and 9:30am.

Where did you hear that? How many? If that's the case I will make it earlier there. Remember to park across the street from Alice's, where there is a much larger parking lot.

Guys I think you have the address to the wrong Starbucks. Based on the description I think you want the one at 1000 Metro Center Blvd. When you exit E 92 at Foster City Blvd. just make a right turn at the bottom of the ramp. On your left you will see the Starbucks. There is also a Noah's next to it. The first light after you turn off the freeway is Shell. Make a left at the light and you can go up and make a turn into the lot.

I doubt it. It would mean Sandy would have to get up that much earlier.;) Besides I have a strict "NO STARBUCKS" policy.:D That said if you know who gets up and moving a little early I may try to get over there.

A few things & message from Ron Leppke, Our Photographer

A few things:
  • If people want to get to Alice's early they can have breakfast there. Just be ready to have a driver's meeting at 9:10 am. departing at 9:30 SHARP
  • Weather looks like it will be around 67 degrees along the coast and Santa Cruz. Bring a light jacket.
  • Try to arrive early at Alice's, looks like there will be some other car groups in the same area of our route. WE WILL BE AT THE PARKING LOT ACCROSS THE STREET FROM ALICE'S.
  • Watch for the cops, they are out there.
  • After lunch, we will be stopping at Canepa Design in Scotts Valley for about 30 minutes to view the awesome showroom of Bruce Canepa.
  • When we leave Canepa around 2pm, depending on the traffic, our route will either go South on Hwy 17 onto Hwy 1 South to Soquel or take the Glen Canyon Road detour to Soquel.
  • Once we are in Soquel, more awesome backroads all the way to Los Gatos.
Per Ron Leppke in reference to taking photos:

1) Bruce Canepa's wonderful new facility in Scott's Valley would be a great photo op.

2) I will shoot enroute photos from the rear to get more cars in shots.


3) If/when we stop for photos, please allow enough time for any photographer to walk to the front of the line and back.

Davenport Roadhouse Restaurant photo

Heading south to Davenport, on Hwy 1. to the Roadhouse (will be on the left) which is a bakery /coffee shop.
We will stop for a rest stop/coffee only, around 10:30-11:00 am before taking Bonny Doon Road to Felton for lunch (which is about 20 miles of wooded back roads).
Please turn left onto the side road to park. The brown wooden building is the Roadhouse Restaurant (where those cars are parked in the picture).
