Hi All,
Just purchased a 2000 Boxster S with 4,600 miles, its ocean blue with metro blue top & savanna beige interior.new Boxster.jpg
I've never owned a luxury car OR a sports car before so I'll be looking to learn.
I've been driving a "new" 2005 Jetta and liked it, but have wanted a Porsche since the Sixties. I remember sitting in the Porsches that were on display in the VW dealer's showroom while my old Beetle was being serviced and thinking that the car was the coolest thing on wheels.
So... now I've arrived. I'm already trying to talk my wife into going on some road trips to get a better feel for the car. I've not even driven it top down yet!
Well, I look forward to meeting you all, exchanging information, and sharing a mutual appreciation of the car.
Thanks,

Congrats on the new to you ride.

Where are you located?

Welcome onboard. Just to be sure, is that 4,600 miles on your car, or 46k miles? If 4,600, I hope that you have documentation of proper age-based (as opposed to mileage-based) maintenance done on the car :)

Enjoy your ride.

thanks for the pic and welcome aboard! I think your boxster color is like Boxsterbob's. He will be saying "Hello" to you soon.
Where are you located? Are you in the Bay Area or California?

I was checking that car out on-line a month or two ago, very nice.
Enjoy it! I guess I am more patient that you, or just slower.

I must admit, you did find a Boxster with the ultimate color combo, proving your excellent taste! ;) Congrats! 4,600 miles? I don't know how much scientific evidence there is, but it is certainly a common belief that lack of use can be detrimental on seals and moving parts, so my suggestion is to get busy this weekend and go put about 40,000 miles on her! It's the least you can do. :D

Congratulations!
I'm happy for you and sorry for your car's previous owner. I'm sorry because he/she didn't get to enjoy it.
Four thousand Six Hundred miles on a MY 2000? Wow!
Nothing brings me more pleasure than going for a drive in my car.
She's a MY '98 with only 159,000 miles :)
Go get in your car and try to catch up. They like to be driven!
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Welcome aboard, that car's darn near a virgin.:D Enjoy your permagrin.

Hi,
I'm located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Guess that would have been an obvious thing to include in my first post. :)

More Details

Yes. I wasn't really ready to buy but you don't see a lot of cars with such little use. Yes, there are maintenance records showing regular maintenance based on time instead of miles. And, a call to the local dealer drew a comment from the service manager that, "... the car has been very well taken care of." When the previous owner dropped the price a few more thousand, I was a goner ... had to do it.
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.

Merry Christmas!
