I am a new '08 Boxster S owner, and wanted to verify the correct wheel alignment on my car, as I am told that the factory is notorious for incorrect camber settings. Does anyone know which dealership is best equipped for a 4-wheel alignment?

Not sure which place is the best, but avoid Rector at all cost. I've got work done at Carlsen and fremont and they seem to be ok..

I am/was not too excited about Stevens Creek Porsche

Missed/Did not do several things at my last inspection (worn down brake pads, broken CV boot, broken exhaust bracket), all things they CHARGED me for having checked.
But FORGOT to change the spark plugs even though it was part of 30k miles service
But they charged me $10 for windscreen washer additive....

sorry i now actually READ your question
Got to "Custom Alignments" In Sunnyvale (?) they're the best for that

Just don't go to Rector!!!
You might end up with a beatle engine instead ;)

Try DEVEK and Sonnen

DEVEK (not a dealer) in Redwood City does good work and is a Porsche specialist and Sonnen in Mill Valley does excellent but expensive work.

Well Vince I have to disagree with what some have said about Rector. Their service department is now first rate. They've had a major change in personnel over the past couple of years. Service adviser Roger Gray is as good as you will find and they have some excellent mechanics. That said, the only place I will go in the Bay Area for alignments is Roger Krauss racing in Castro Valley. Schedule an appointment with Brandon Krauss. Brandon is truly the best alignment guy in the Bay Area. He is used by a lot of people and clubs that are heavily involved in track events.

Glad to see you finally showed up here at Babblers. Don't forget to post some pics of your car.

Thank you

Thank you for the input. I am initially going to Sonnen Porsche as this will be warranty work. I shall eventually try the recommendations provided.
All the best,
vincesf

after my bad experience with rector (combination of being a new Porsche owner and stupidity that cost me $1800 plus car rental for warranty work), I never go back to any dealership for service. I just go to the local indy shop that's recommended by a friend of mine who works at dealership and will go to Custom Alignment or to Roger Krauss if needed.

but like what Larry said, probably they've improved already.
