Any one updated boxter to a turbo nose, if so whats involved looks good on some pictures I have seen.

Hello, Binder Gill. I have not done it or seen it. Can you post the photos you've seen, or at least link to them?

Thanks,

Snaxster

Sorry tried to paste picture no luck, the spoiler is by Speedart, there are several other manufactures that make similar ones.

Turbo Nose

Is this the kind of nose you're looking for? Personally I'd be careful with anything made from fiberglass. My rear bumper and side skirts are fiberglass (Gemballa), but my front nose is PU (OEM GT3). With my car as low as it is, it scrapes a lot in the front and with PU the bumper is pretty resistant, no big deal. Fiberglass has a higher tendency to break/crack. The Fiberwerks stuff is fiberglass, as are most of the aftermarket turbo-style bumpers. Take a look at the lower, black section of the bumper in the photo on the driver's side. See the big crack? It's hard to see as I had to make the picture pretty small to upload here. This car is owned by a guy in SoCal named Kelvin and he said he cracked it pretty good (needing repair).

Kirk, thanks for your input, joining this site is good. I will check with Fiberwerks. I am beginning to have second thoughts now. Any one know of any suppliers that make this in a plastic material.

Sorry, I think the photo I posted is the GT2 bumper, not the turbo.

There are some Porsche OEM options that are plastic, like the early 996 nose, Boxster aero kit, MK1 GT3, and now a 997 GT3 made to fit early Boxster headlights. Of course you could also drop $5K and switch out your fenders and headlights to 996 turbo versions and then just use the OEM turbo front. :p

One option you might want to consider is the Ruf front bumper for the Boxster. It looks a lot like the turbo bumper and is made of plastic.

I'm under the impression that these actually aren't ridiculously priced new and the design looks great to me as they're the only aftermarket bumper I've seen that actually comes with new radiator shrouds to maximize cooling!
