After a hard day at the track, I saw new grooves on the topside of the front rotors on each side of the car. I CAN catch my fingernail in them. What do you think? Small rocks embeded themselves in the pads? Getting to the end of the rotors life? There is 50,000 miles on the car and the original pads. I have a new set of EBC yellow's to put on the car, but I think I should wait till I get new rotors. Thanks Blu.

Answer

Found the problem. The brake wear indicator was putting the grooves in the rotor. The pads I was using were the Mintex pads. DO NOT USE THESE ON THE TRACK!!! The pads were new this Spring. Four 20min runs on the track at Gingerman Raceway and the pads were down to the wear indicator!! The pads are fine for street but not for hard braking on the track. Hope this helps. Blu.
