Hi,

how many of us will be at the GGR track days at Infineon Oct 10/11 ?
http://www.pca-ggr.org/node/1272
So far I see 11 Boxster registered :D

Maybe the ones of you who haven't registered want to take a tour to Napa Valley on either day, swing by at Infineon and see what track driving is all about, and maybe we'll see you at the next event...

besides coming by and seeing all the Porsches on Track...
you can also participate in "Taste of the Track"

you pay a small fee, $20 or so, and you find a helmet long sleeve shirt and long pants and you get to ride with a GGR Nationally Certified Instructor for an entire practice session (25-30 minutes) at speed....which around Sears (sorry Infineon) is under 2 minutes per lap.
so come by, see some Porsches running the way they were designed to be used, take some pics, and get some hot laps in some hot Porsches...

the Taste of the Track fees go entirely to a GGR Charity.:D

Track Days

I'll be attending the Ground School the evening of the ninth and the Saturday session. I'm really looking forward to learning more about my car, so see you all there.

I'll be at thunderhill oct 2 with trackmasters.... Only $90 for 70 minutes of track time in the afternoon. How about the GGR autocross being cancelled today?

Cool, welcome to the world of track-driving, which is even more addictive as A/X
My car # is 179, please come by and say Hi

See you in 2 weeks :D

I was not aware of the taste of the track. That sounds great :) I wasn't going to be able to put in a full day but a small taste sounds very appealing. Hope to be there!!

Regards,

James

I'll look you up, my number is 130 and I'll be in the yellow group.

Oh Yeah

130  Jasmes Dean's Number ???
right - aren't you organizing the James Dean memorial drive?
Believe it or not it is the number I drew and yes I'm trying to organize a JD memorial run on the 30th but so far it's just me. And, oh yeah didn't know this when I bought the car...

I signed up for both Sat & Sunday. (Oct 10-11)
Any reasonable motel at area?

It's possible that I'll be there. Do they have loaner helmets?

George

no loaner helmets...you either need to bring a helmet or try to find one in the Paddock that you can borrow...usually not a problem:)

Helmet

I just picked up a new Bell Mag4 SA2000 helmet with visor from Pyrotect on eBay for $79.00 and they had 9 left. Nothing fancy but meets all specks, will protect you and reasonable.

anyone else going?
I see more Boxster and Caymans (Caymen ?) signed up

A busy weekend I see. Have fun at the track. I'll be at the "other" track as a spectator for the ALMS Season Championship:

It is our local San Francisco Bay Area Porsche Team based right here in Sonoma,
besides another Porsche team, TRG - The Racers Group, Petaluma.

Since all the FLM cars have been out the field for the whole entire season this year,
my idea for a tour of the FLM facility is still on HOLD with Jennfer Hart at FLM.
I am hoping that once this race is over and the 911's will be back at home base in Sonoma,
I will get a call from Jennifer/FLM to do a tour of the facility @ Sonoma/Infineon (on top of the hill).
I have not forgotten about my prior suggestion of doing a tour. Keep your fingers crossed!
