My driver's side window stopped working with a terrifying sound of metal chewing metal. After reading all helpful posts on Babblers and RennTech, I replaced the regulator mechanism without too much fuss.
After I put the door back together, the window went up and down fine but it refused to curtsey so it didn't hit the top on open and close (it had worked before the regulator mess).
I returned to these pages and determined that my window switches must be bad as well. Last weekend I finally took the door apart hoping that just cleaning out the parts would get them working.
I was surprised to find 2 severed wires and a broken plug (see pics). They must have gotten caught in the failing regulator cable and torn apart. Any of you experienced Boxsterers ever seen this before?
After repairing the wires, my Boxster has regained its manners and curtseys in the presence of a gentleman
