As of the site software upgrade I see two bugs when I load http://www.babblers.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=5 in Opera Mini 4.2.

1. Forced mobile style: the site's mobile style is served by default, and I can't see an obvious way to override it. I used to get the normal style by default (which is what I want.)

2. All threads unread: all thread titles are shown in boldface, which conventionally means I have not read latest posts in them. Either the mobile style should conform to the normal style's typographic conventions, or it already does but it is incorrectly designating all threads as unread (which they happen not to be.)

Thanks,

First question... What device are you running on?

Second question... Are you only seeing this on the forum you mentioned?

Hi, Tom.

I'm running Opera Mini 4.2 on a Sony Ericsson TM-506 phone.

I'll have to test other Babblers forums and get back to you. The one I reported is the one I browse to with a bookmark. For comparison, when I use a bookmark to get there with Firefox on a Mac, I see the correct typographic designation of read and unread threads.

Thanks,

The new mobile style is currently forced on devices that are detected as mobile.

I've modified the style to display threads with new posts to be bold and to take you to the new post. Regular threads will take the user to the start of the thread.

If you really prefer to use the full style I can see what possibly can be done on a per user basis.

Thank you, Tom. My preference is for being able to choose one style or the other on-demand. My guess is that other people would like that, too.

I seem to remember that when you first implemented a mobile style (a year or two ago?) there was this option.

Best,

Snaxster

There was, however that was using a different template "style". What I can do is provide specific exclusions by user. Let me know if you would be interested in that.
