Does a 2003 Chevy have a strainer on the fuel pump? How many miles are these supposed to be good for?

Yes, it should have one. The strainers aren't really a filter, most dirt will pass through it and get caught in the regular fuel filter. The strainer is there to keep larger particles out, those which might damage the pump, clog the fuel line, etc. Its normally good for the life of the vehicle or pump, whichever comes first, lol.

The pump usually don't last the life of these trucks. I see many with 400 k on the clock.
Good trucks.
