I just bought a 76 Chevy c10 Silverado with a 350. This is the first Chevy I’ve owned. When I start it, it idles extremely high in park but not bad at all in drive. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Just how high is it? Normally those trucks idle idle until it warms up or you press the gas to get the high idle cam reset. Once its warmed up it shouldn't idle high. If it is still high once completely warmed up then the high idle linkage on the carb needs to be adjusted to get the idle down.

It’s a pretty high idle but after letting it warm up it idles back down but not down to normal. Also the carb smokes a little bit after i turn truck off regardless of how long it’s been running.
