PCH 1 R/R Tour

In honor of River Rat and the rest of the soldier who's serving our country...this tour are for you guys! Be safe out there!

Date: April 14/15
Where: Carmel/Big Sur & Morro Bay Coastline driving

April 14
For Overnight trip*
-We meet at 8:30 am sharp @ Hwy. 101/Hwy. 85 Bernal Exit ...on Bernal Road meet at shopping center parking lot behind *McDonalds* (where Albertson's is located and Mc Donald’s / Shell Gas Station) buy lunch & etc here at Albertson's.

-Then depart around 9:00 am and head down back road, called Santa Teresa Road (note: Sta. Teresa turns into Hale Rd.) from there we will work our way on to 101 S.

After leaving McDonalds Parking Lot, make right on Bernal Road (going West)
Go .5 Miles, make left on Santa Teresa (at Palm, Santa Teresa changes name and becomes Hale, continue on Hale
Go 7.5 Miles, make a left onto Tilton-(Stop Sign)
Go .5 Miles, make a right onto Monterey Highway, Get into left lane
Go .8 Miles, take a left on Cochrane Road, Stay in right Lane
Go .8 Miles, Right onto Highway 101 South


-101 S to 156 W. to Hwy. 1 to Carmel
-First Stop = Hwy. 1 Carmel to Mill Creek Park for Group Lunch & Photo op’s
-Second Stop = Ragged Point for rest stop and more photo op’s?
-Last Stop = Morro Bay (probably 1 or 2 stops on the way)
-Check in @ *hotel* (depends on what time, we could hang out before checking in or check in first and then hang out)

-From Morro Bay back to Hwy 101 to San Jose/San Francisco

For Day Trip to Big Sur
-Same as Plan A with the exception of going to Morro Bay
-Mill Creek Park is split area for the group who's staying overnight @ Morro Bay with an option of going thru Ragged Point (approx. 30mi. from Mill Creek Park)
-For Day trip group, take the same route on the way back....

Plan A is our choice.

Gerry, I recommend going beyond Gilroy and Prunedale to Salinas. Take the exit marked "Montery Bay", Hwy 68. This is the road that gets you to the Laguna Seca Raceway. But about a 1/2 mile before LAguna Seca there is an intersection to Laurless Grade Rd. Take this over to the Carmel Valley Rd. This will take you to Hwy 1. You'll avoid a lot of slow going through towns and the Laurless Grade Rd is a fun ride.

Wish I could go.

thanks R/R! I know I wish you and the other half (I forgot her name) could go to. I don't know if you see it in other thread, but this will be a PCH 1 R/R event since you will be away to serve our country.

dedes, most likely the PCH 1 drive will happen around mid-april so the rest of the members could make it or would have enough time to think about it. I know, on my part, I would have enough time to suck up to my wifey..hehehehe! Can't wait to meet al you guys too but can't on Friday nights coz' she get off from work @ 10 pm.....probably on the next Boxster Brunch

Aye, Blink...good to see you here! Of course I'll keep you posted and yah, you gonna have to start at least 2 hours before the drive. Hopefully you could make it!

If I could get 3 more sign up for overnight trip would be great and for singles out there, you got 2 weeks to find a partner...hehehehe! j/k

on a serious note: This event is not for couples only, singles are more than welcome too. They have 2 bed or single bed availabillity or if you want, you could share the room to others to cut down the cost

That works, my B-day is the 10th and Dede's is the 15th, we could save Kevin and Joanie the trouble of planning a Birthday outing if we did it the weekend of the 14th/15th!

Yes, Kev & I are going to PCA-GGR social at Mountain Mikes tonight. See you both there!

I think that was some one else Joanie saw this morning. I drove into work with Kevin in his Nissan today. There is someone that has a pastel yellow Porsche Boxster just like mine that I saw on Edgewood ages ago, not sure if they are from our area or not.
