A PM spammer got through today and managed to send out about 50 messages before he was zapped. If you happened to be one of the few that received the message from orllando944 please DO NOT click on the link as you will most certainly receive a free virus.

i'm one of the 50 but didn't open it coz' i know that im not that special to received a message stating that i have a virus...LOL

PM spammers tend to be manual attacks.

I have had two of these private messages. One from Orlando and the second from GoodFriend. Just fyi.

I got the PM from good friend...didn't click the link though. I was just about to send Tom a message when I saw this.

Received and deleted both email from these individuals as well without opening the links. :(

I would suggest you download and install a program called Malwarebytes if you don't already have it. There's a free version available for download. Even if you didn't get hit this time it's a handy program to have around.

Yeah, they just registerd 5 hours ago. Unfortunately it's a balancing act on how restrictive the registration process is vs. how much access new users are allowed.

Thanks for the heads up. Mine came from Magic Mtn Dan who I haven't heard from since our cars were still under warranty long ago. Didn't click on it. Not sure what it does on a Mac, but not interested in finding out either.

As far as I know Dan never spammed anybody. If you still have it I'd be interested in seeing the message as his last visit under a newer regisration was in November.

Sorry deleted already. Pretty sure it wasn't from Dan. Just seeing the name brought back many memories.

If you received this message, "You have received a new private message at The Babblers from GooDFriend, entitled "Hello friend!"." Don't open it!
Great to see you guys on Babblers though! I haven't been back on here for a while since I've sold my Porsche. Don't worry, I'll get another one soon. :D

Oh no Trista! Like you, I was curious as well, but my spam blocker wouldn't let me open it. As I was about to open it I was thinking..... "Who calls themselves Goodfriend"?
So the moral of this email is never trust someone who claims to be a "good friend" or has "944" in there title:eek:

Sorry had to throw the 944 dig in...... there fun cars, just not as fun as boxsters!
