Hi - its been a while since I posted. I did 4 DE's this Summer, and I think my car (a 2000 S model) could use two things: A little lower center of gravity coupled with a little stiffer suspension, and second (and perhaps more importantly) about 30 more horsepower. My question is: Does anybody have any suggestions regarding specific brands of aftermarket intake, ECU and exhaust products that work better than other brands? I did do a GT-3 nose and aero skirts, but now power is the order of business this winter to get ready for spring. Thanks for any input. PS - Here's a pic from the starting grid at PIR if I can get it to upload.

for power increases you will be spending lots of $$$$$ for very little return.
Headers, sports cats and free flowing exhaust will net you maybe 15 hp.
I have heard horror stories about folks changing Computer programming (chips, flashing) and intakes.
money would be better spent on PSS9s for the suspension, GT3 bars, with adjustable links (heim joints), adjustable rear tow links...:)

I was considering the ROW M030 as far a suspension improvement, partially for street drivability, and partially because the bottom edge of the GT-3 nose is already perilously close to the ground.

I just shrunk a pic of the front of my car - here it is. :)

OK, it worked the second time, I think. :o

you can get more adjustablility with the PSS9s and GT3 bars, you can set the PSS9s to any ride height you like, you don't have to be down in the weeds:eek:

And the ride and streetability will not be that different from the ROW M030.
I can say this after driving Boxsters with just about every suspension set up.
On my boxster I had H&R springs and ROW M030 Boxster S sway bars front and rear. With very good results. Lowers the car a bit over an inch.
If I had it to do over again, I would go for the PSS9s.
More adjustability with decent ride quality.
And no matter how low your car is, with that new nose, you will be going up driveways at oblique angles, very slowly:D

In my opinion, the best money I have spent so far - BY FAR - has been for the ROW M030 suspension from Suncoast. Best $1000 I have ever spent. Makes the car even more insanely fun to drive and wicked fast through the twisties. The difference is remarkable.

iA Headers, Fabspeed exhaust, and EVO intake cost me~ $1800 and produced a HP gain, but it's only noticable at the top end. Little to nothing at the bottom end. The sound is sweet, but the resonance is just a PITA, and after a while you decide it just isn't worth it.

I have never seen any data that makes me think that changing the front nose does anything except INCREASE the drag, so I haven't gone this route, although I'm tempted by one company who makes a new style GT3 nose to fit the 986 - which looks super nasty.

I think my aero skirts and GT-3 nose are a great improvement visually, and my top track speed is unchanged by my seat of the pants evaluation. Oddly enough, I have been averaging 2 to 3 mpg better on the highway so far.

I am pretty much decided on the ROW M030. Can you use it and use spacers (5mm) with stock 18" Turbo Twists?
