I have a short shift kit for sale. I loved the feel of these on the 5-spd tranny. I didn't like it so much when I bought one for my 6-spd. I ordered two,one for my 986 S and another for a 996 c2(same transmission). I have one kit not even installed and basically brand new, just opened to make sure all the parts were there. $70 shipped anywhere in the U.S.

Please email me at tvailt@yahoo.com the mfg etc. I think Santa may put this under the tree for me.

Thanks

It's from Top Speed. To be honest I wouldn't recommend it for a 'S' tranny. I loved the feel of this same shifter on my old 5-spd. HATED it on my 6-spd. It has too much of a race feel, the throws are damn short.

What's wrong with a "damn short" throw?
Mine is a modified B&M Short Throw which I made even shorter.

That's first and second gears engaged in a double-exposure photo.

Man I wish it was that easy Pedro. I loved the shorter throw on the 5-spd. 6-spd was a whole different experience.

It could have been the cable adjustment that made it uncomfortable on the 6 speed.
I've installed B&Ms on both and driven them and there was no difference that I could feel.

When I first installed mt schnell ss kit, it was very notchy it even felt like it was hitting something on 1st, 3rd and a little bit on 5th. I thought that was just normal since I heard people complaining about it being "notchy" untill one day when I had the center console apart, I decided to play around with it and adjusted the the 2 cables. I just played around with it and just did small adjustments (one to two threads per adjustment) and after a few minutes I was able to make it much smoother to almost stock feel. I was thinking of putting the stock one back in but after adjusting it, I'm glad I did not.

The cables attach directly to the tranny via some somewhat flimsy connections that may also require some adjustment.
I know of a t least two cars that thought they'd lost a gear or a synchro only to find out that it was one of the cables out of alignment.

Pedro
