1991 Chevy truck with an automatic. When I take my foot off the gas or slam the throttle the transmission clunks enough that I can hear it. It didn't used to do it. How can I tell if its a ujoint or the transmission or the differential?
block off the front wheels, then put jack stands under the rear axle just enough to raise the rear tires a fraction of an inch off the ground. You'll be able to see if it's the front or back of the driveshaft has slop by turning it by hand, or if its diff or trans.
