Who's Going To GGR AX School 6/26?

Is anyone going to the GGR AX school at Alameda on 6/26 and who are the instructors? I'm really considering this school as it sounds like some good tips can be picked up there.

Instructors at the school are some of the best Porsche AXers in Norcal....
All GGR trained and will help you learn to get the most from your car.;)

You will get tons of seat time...

I will be there in an instructor capacity....and lots of my long time very good friends as well:D

I need to get out to one of these sometime. Unfortunately I'm headed down to El Toro for a SCCA divisional AX.

not usually for the school, but I would check with the organizers for this specific event...they may be a bit more relaxed on car marque.;)

I received my payment confirmation email today :D

Where is a good place to get a helmet in the bay area?

In the ABC streets. Thank you for the helmet options. I about fainted when I saw the price of some the helmets

Where in RWC are you? Keep an eye out for my yellow Cayman.

http://www.winecountrymotorsports.com (I think this is the only one that is an actual store, though the others may allow walk-ins if prearranged)

http://www.helmetcity.com/ (I've had good experience with them in the past, and may just try my luck with ordering online)

don't forget that GGR has a limited number (10-15) of loaner helmets...Courtesy of Carlsen Porsche...:D

How do you request a helmet extra large. As my wife says I have a big head and no brains :D I really want to learn the helmet pros and cons instead of just buying one

Helmets are available on a first come first served basis.
You come to the trailer with your drivers license in hand.
Hand over your license and you get the helmet of your choice.
When you return the helmet you can then drive home:D

I've used the loaners, and think it's time to get my own.

Just don't borrow (or buy) one that is too small! :o

As soon as you know your size I think that SafeRacer has a good selection of helmets and if you google a bit it shouldn't be too hard to find a 10% discount coupon online

Otherwise, I think the guys at Wine County Motorsports (inside Infineon Racetrack, so don't go there this weekend as there will be NASCAR madness) are top notch and actually have good prices

Actually: One more thought:
If you can wait with buying a helmet then you should: By the end of the year the new Snell SA 2010 helmets will come out and I'd imagine that the older standards will eventually no longer admitted by PCA.
I am pretty sure that next season SA 2010 will be a requirement at least for DE/TT not sure about A/X though

2005 Snell will still be good for DE/TT and Snell 2000 should still be good for AX...but Chris is right, if you can wait until Sept or Oct and the Snell 2010s will be out and will be good for a longer period of time.:D

My main concern is that at the AX school there will be 50 newbies and 10 loaner helmets...

My understanding is that the SA2005 will be usable for AX/DE/TT through 2015, and that is good enough for me. By then I may want something newer/better/different anyway.

I'd loan you mine (I have an XXL helmet) but I'll be coming back from Thunderhill late that Friday night....
