1997 Boxster parts...

from what I have heard, the regulators stretch causing the window not to drop down the proper amount for opening and closing the the door with the window up.

Item 1 is the regulator itself (it's a looped around cable). I believe you can buy it with or without the motor attached. Costs about $180 without the motor. Generally, the motors don't go bad, but the regulators do wear out. When the window fails to drop (or is slow to react) when you pull the handle, it's usually the regulator. Can be the microswitches too, but less common.

I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer happily replaces both the regulator and motor whenever there is a problem. More $$ for them. So it's not surprising that they refer to the regulator and motor as one in the same.

Go figure...

... the regulator stretches...

If I want more room in the back, do I just use the accelerator more?

Hi Clemson,
If your '97 has the card that goes in the fuse box cover that shows the fuse arrangement and it is the same as a '99 and you want to part with it I'll take it too. Just found out mine is gone and I can't find one on the internet to copy. Thanks! Ron

There is a copy of the fuse diagram on Mike Focke's site: Click Here

Thanks Bob I had already downloaded and printed that one but when I compared it to my fuse panel nothing looks right no matter how I hold it (I know there is only one way). That diagram is from a 2000 and maybe some one changed out my fuses but not many of them match capacity or location.

I will check... but I think it might be long gone. I'll let you know.

Clemson I'm also missing one of those plastic plugs that goes in the hole where the speedster humps would attach. It looks like a little black plastic umbrella opened up. If you've got one of those I'll buy it from you as well.
Thanks,
Ron

Anyone has access to carfax?

While I am riping off the carpet, I found a lot of interesting stuffs.... not only the personal items from the previous owner. It seems to have pieces of glass all over the car, even underneath the carpet. So it sparks me some interests to find out more about the car.

VIN: WP0CA2981VS623167
Vehicle: 1997 PORSCHE BOXSTER
Current Mileage: 171600 miles

Email me if you have the report (clemsonc at yahoo), I will find some way to repay you. :)

regards,
