i have not been able to get pete's board to come up. does anyone else have this problem??
 
I've been having constant problems

I get the boarders just fine, then it takes what seems forever to download the pages and same with individual messages. It is as if there is a bottleneck in the transmission route somewhere. When I try to trace it using Visual Route, I get nothing discernable to explain the serious delay, but I'm no internet expert either. Of all the other urls I frequent, this is the only one I have problems with.
 
I once had that problem but finally coughed it up like a furball *NM*

Could Virus problems be the culprit?

I've been getting a lot of e-mails from PPBB folks with a zip file attached that contains a virus. Perhaps that's the cause of the problems with PPBB?

Watch out for any e-mails containing zip files or executable files. The one I've seen most of is "NAME.zip"

Here's one I just got tonight:

I doubt it since PPBB is only problem

I can't imagine that this sort of virus would be so selective for only one URL. Could there be a problem with the URL being changed some time when I didn't see any post there on PPBB regarding a new bookmark or such?
 
Three days and I'm having withdrawls

This is the only URL that doesn't work. Any ideas?
 
How do you have the site bookmarked?

They did change the hosting recently to a new server. If you access the board directly (w/o the frame) that may be what you're running into.

I've tried the newest one to no avail by remarking it. It doesn't seem any different than we've use for quite some time.

Interesting about 3-4 times a week, like now for this morning, the link is working perfectly. PPBB is just as fast to down load as is Babblers is. I keep thinking it's fixed, but by this afternoon or tonight it may very well be back to being very slow.

It seems that others, albeit small numbers of other poster, have the same problem. We all have different servers so I doubt that the bottlene occuring within the server is an issue. Again, the biggest thing I can't figure out is why only PPBB.

Jamie. Me too. I noticed you're on ATTBI

I was just on the phone trying to get it resolved. Senior tech support doesn't know squat.

Can you get to all the other areas of PPBB? I can. Just not the baord.

I notice that the web administrator, Rob from Houston, seems to respond to messages addressed to Admin. Try that. A couple of days ago he made a posting (can't find it) that he revised some settings for IE6, which is what I use as a browser. For the last two days, everything is back to "normal." I can't be overly optimistic yet, but so far I am getting into PPBB just fine. It is fustrating isn't it to not getting a daily ration of PPBB?

it has been 5 days for me now. i have been in contact with rob granger, but so far no luck. i use ie 5.1 for the mac and have tried mozilla also with no luck, perhaps i will try navigator...
 
"Page Cannot Be Found"

I, too, using Netscape/MAC get the PPBB frame but no BB page. I wonder why, and if there is anything I can do about it. I think I will try using an anonymous FTP. I'll let you all know if it works.
