I have a 1997 986, bought last November.
The door key sort of worked, but now is defunct.
Also the remote had never worked.
Dilemma!!
Have removed the lock from the door (see attached)
I can identify this from a parts manual, 99653796402 (I am in Australia so just have one locking door, which is on the right side, of course).
The detail also says "SUPPORT WITH LOCK CYLINDER W/O STIPULATED LOCK NUMBER.
Does this mean it is just the 'shell' and not the lock??
My problem is with the lock mechanism, and very much think I will have to go the path of the $$$$$, to have this repaired.
Any comments are most welcome
