Got my 03 Boxster S 2 weeks ago and already attended a local porsche club Spring Kick Off here in Michigan. This is going to be a fun year.

welcome!!! i haven't been here very long but from what i can tell everyone here is pretty cool and helpful even to those of us who aren't from cal. lol. you enjoyin the new ride so far?

I sure am enjoying the ride. I looked around for 4 months and drove a lot of sports cars before getting the Boxster S. I am a pretty tall, 6'2", but I fit farily well in the car. When I picked it up in Milwaukee, I drove 5 hours back to Lansing MI and my back was just starting to get sore. Not bad.

There are a few quircks with my car and am wondering if anyone else has or had these in the past.

1. When I open the drivers side door, I hear a clicking sound coming from the radio area in the dash. It lasts for about 5-8 seconds, then stops. Radio and CD player work fine. Any thoughts?
2. When downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, I sometimes get a little grind, and it once popped out of 2nd into neutral. This is my first 6 speed, and I think some of that is operator error. It seems to go into 2nd better when I give the gas a little blurp.

That's it!! This car rocks. I still can't get over how fast you can take exit ramps with it. With my old car (2006 Grand Prix GXP), I could take this one exit ramp at 50-55 before the tires would squeal. With the Boxster I took it at 65 yesterday and the tires didn't even squeak!! I need to get my Army National Guard license plate on the car soon so the cops will take it easy on me.:D

Welcome aboard, even if you are from a part of Ohio that nobody wanted GO BUCKS!!!!:D

with my 2005, which i have had for 2 1/2 years, rarely, but occassionally, when going from third to fourth, it will pop out of gear. the dealer has looked at it, and can find nothing wrong. it only happens from third to fourth, and never when downshifting. i have just accepted this as one of the little things with this car, but i have driven a manual transmission since childhood, and this is not operator error. there is SOMETHING there that is causing this. yours sounds similiar.
