Any of you ever spunout in your Boxster?

As said before, after 15+ years as a GGR AX and Time Trial instructor the Boxster is a very forgiving platform and very easy for a newbie to drive quite quickly...
As in all things to go really fast you need lots of seat time to learn the idiosyncrasies of the car and your tire setup.
The Boxster is great until you reach that plateau and then it goes, and it goes very quickly. The envelope is very large but once you reach it, hold on and put both feet in!:D

After driving many laps at several Norcal tracks in a Spec Boxster doing tire and suspension tuning, the Boxster makes a wonderful track car when set up properly and it makes a nice track car with wonderful handling in completely stock form on street tires.
If you exceed the limits of the laws of physics, it doesn't matter if you have the best tires and suspension possible, or if you have all the electronic aides and nannys engaged, you are going to go.

I drive mine pretty aggressively sometimes but I live out in the boonies and we have some really sweet, lightly traveled, twisty, knarly, roads around here. The limits of the car are so high that you can have some fun without ever being even close to pushing the envelope. Because of that, I actually have more of a track setup (alignment) than a stock one on the car. I run a lot more negative camber than stock on all 4 corners, very minimal positive toe on the front and 1/16" positive toe on the rear.

I've only had the ass kick out on me one time. I was making a 90 degree turn off one road and onto another and I accelerated too hard. Even so, it was never even remotely close to being a loop. The ass kicked out a little bit, the dashboard lit up like it was Xmas, I kept my foot in it, PSM kicked in and it regripped, and came back in line just as sweet as could be.

I was actually quite impressed with how smoothly it all transpired. Tracking events aside, most people are going to run out of intestinal fortitude L-O-N-G before this car runs out of stick when properly set up. Even with the essentially zero toe, I don't find this car to be the least bit twitchy - ever.

I was once having some fun on the way home on a beautiful summer evening. I came around a long sweeping 120 degree right hander that is largely blind to the inside due to brush and pines. As I apexed the corner, doing around 80, I see this big black bear in the middle of the road. I immediately jump on the brakes to scrub off speed, fully expecting to have to come back off them and take evasive actions, because there is no way I'm getting stopped. I came to a full and totally safe stop well before I was even close to hitting that bear. It never offered to kick out, become unbalanced, push, even screech the tires a little. It just came to a rapid and complete stop. The bear continued his stroll, unimpressed, and I went on my way.

I love this thing.......:D
