Looking to take some swirl marks out of my paint. and reading a few thing looks like the thing to use is a nice polisher. Anyone have any recommendations for such? I hear porter cable is good but have no ideal of what else i would need. we use to have some type of get together to work on cars or detail our cars... Anyone up for something like that?

Mike can't help you with the polisher but am up for a car care day depending on where it is.

I have a Porter Cable 7424XP Dual Action Polisher and it works well. I use 3M Swirl Mark Remover and P21S paint cleaner and P21S carnuba wax. It is a several hour process, but I'm due for my next installment. If the dates work out, I'm game.

Here is a picture of the door after some hard detailing. :)

I’m game for this too. I have the Griots garage kit and haven’t used it in over 2 years. It’s time to break it out and use it.

After 6 weekends of not being home I finally get to spend the next two weekend at home.

If the date works count me in. I like to do this before winter. I have a porter and all kinds of pads. If we can find a place with shade that would be great doing this outside in the sun is not the best.

I put just over 2200 miles at Porsche escape couple of weeks ago. Drove through rain and hail while we were there. The car is clean but not detailed. Looks like we have enough tools for each of us. Let's do this. I'm only available the next two weekend.

Just be sure to hold off on the beer until after all the swirl marks are gone! :D

Also, this would be a good time to do a clay job on the car prior to dealing with the swirl marks. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to do and how much improvement it can make.

I agree with Tom, since my car is outdoors 24/7, I start the process with Meguiar's clay bar and detail spray. It is amazing how the surface goes from grainy/bumpy to baby-butt smooth.

Does anyone have a place with power and shade?

Should we wait for another weekend since this upcoming week looks like rain is on the way...

I’m interested in having a car care day? Possibly paint restoration and ceramic coating... would anyone care to join in???
