It seems that the light in my climate area is out... I have some that come through, but I can't tell if I'm at 71 or 81 or 61. Any thoughts on this? Is it the LED that needs replacing? If so, how do I do it?

Thanks

2002 Boxster S

I'm not sure if it's a bulb, but here are some instructions for removing the cluster if another poster can confirm it. If all else fails, you can try this hack: ;)

Haha good one Bob. As far as I know the only thing you can do is replace the whole climate control unit. If you're handy with electronics you might try taking it apart.

Here is what it looks like when it is on.

Yea, you'll need to replace the whole thing. Unfortunately they cost about $400.

That stinks. Thankfully I got a great deal on the car.

Any step by step directions for this online? Is it just an unscrew and plug in type install?

Anyone know the part number for this for a 2002 Boxster S? There are a bunch on ebay, but I want to make sure I get the correct one.

I just met a guy yesterday from a company that specializes in repairing those displays. He couldn't tell me 100% that he could fix this particular display but he said if they can't fix then they don't charge you a penny. They send you a pre-paid shipping label so all you have to do is drop it at UPS. He said they generally work through shops but would be able to work with individuals as well. The contact info is

If they can't fix it then I would call the dealer, give them your VIN, and they can give you the correct part number.
