Its spring time and was wondering if anyone was interested in getting together in the bay area to do a work on cars day? if so lets set something up and figure out what people would like to have done and if we can do it together..

Let's schedule a date and see when's the best time for everyone. I'm definitely interested. I'm due for an oil change on the 08.

I am too but it sure doesn't look like spring to me. Rain, rain go away come again some other year.

Name the day/date, check the Babblers calendar for days that would work.

I would like to do some TLC on the Boxster. I want to deamber the headlights competely so they are clear like Voxster did.

BTW, where is Bryan the Voxster these days??

Cool! Had this on my "To Do List"...I heard it isn't that hard to do. Just want someone like VOXSTER to be there, he said he would show me how to deamber the litronic headlights some time ago!

Where is that guy anyways?

here is the old thread ..http://www.babblers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10593&highlight=amber&page=2

De-Ambering litronics: there are a couple of methods. Neither are that hard. Here's one that uses a soldering iron to melt and cut up the amber diffuser in the litronic housing so it can be removed through the bulb hole on the bottom of the housing:

The other method (the one I chose) skips the soldering iron and just uses long needlenose pliers to snap and break apart the amber lens into smaller pieces for (you guessed it) removal through the bulb hole on the bottom of the housing. :-)

Both of those sound like radical surgery to me. I'd hate to screw up a $600 light.

Hi everyone, just joined on here as I have a new Boxster toy to play with. I too would like to do a deamber as well as a brake pad and rotor change and top replacement... although the top might be a little too much for this type of event. LOL

Let me know when you are all getting together, would be great to meet you in person. David
