Hey gang,
I'm only in Hawaii for only a few days but I still managed to take my brothers Boxster out for a spin. Took a short drive thru the eastern coast of Honolulu via Diamond Head, Makapuu and Sandy Beach. Took a short swim at Bellows and had lunch in Kailua before heading home. To my family that was a long drive. All 20 miles of it. :) For Island locals 20 miles is a long drive.

Great pics of you in Hawaii! Thanks for sharing.
No "Porsche Of Hawaii" hat?

Your brother has a nice Boxster & wheels, lucky you, to have a chance to drive one on the island. I will have to hunt him down next time I am there. :D

You look like you are having a good time on one of my favorite roads there.

One other favorite road of mine is Tantalus Drive, through that lush, green rain forest that opens up to the breathtaking panoramic view of Diamond Head, Waikiki, Punchbowl Crater, and Honolulu. What a great photo that would be with a Boxster! :)

Hi Dedes,
Believe it or not. I started the drive going to the dealer to buy my hat. It turns out the parts dept was closed on Saturdays. I asked my Brother to buy one for me and he will bring it to me when I meet him in Vegas this weekend. Yes Tantalus is one of my favorite too. The scenery is just amazing.

Sorry they were closed on the weekend. If & when your brother goes to Porsche, have him ask for Tom Pokorny, Parts Manager of Porsche of Hawaii (a sponsor who graciously donated to WCBF)
or
one of the Parts Advisors:
Sil Alejandro
Hapaki Ueoka
Hoyt Hill

I bought a lot of t-shirts, hats and gifts from them. They have 2 shops in 2 different buildings. They have some awesome Porsche Hawaiian polo shirts too!

BTW, is your brother on Babblers? If so, we need his location & car image on Googlemap :D please! Plus, some scenery pics of his Boxster in Hawaii.

Steve,
I sure will. I've been wanting to do that everytime I'm there. Luckily my brother always hands me the keys whenever I'm there. This trip was very short (5 day) and was not planned. Where are you located?

Efren

Awesome pics Efren! Nice looking car too :)

I've never been to Hawaii - are the roads good 'boxster roads'?

nice..very nice, bro! be safe on the way back and we'll catch up soon! I haven't had a chance to use my griots :(

Hey Bigb,
In Honolulu they don't really have nice secluded roads like we do here. Most of the roads are congested. One road mentioned was Tantalus which is a twisty mountain road that takes you to the top of the mountain which is similar to Mt Hamilton rd. Very nice but again a lot of traffic goes through there.

Unfortunately my brother doesn't browse the web much. Only uses it for email.

My beautiful Boxster is being loaded onto a ship bound for Oahu this week. It will be living in Kailua. I'm glad it will have lots of company!

I will miss Palo Alto and Mt. View, but not as much as the last time I left, when I was bound for Pakistan. . . . . (No, no Boxsters in Islamabad. Just lots of two cylinder taxis.)

Good luck on the new assignment. You'll have to post up some pics with your car in it's new digs. Maybe it's time to start a sub-forum, Boxsters in paradise. :D

You will have fun in Hawaii with your Boxster. At least you'll have more atention in your Boxster than you ever will here in the bay area. Here a Boxster is a dime a dozen. In Hawaii, I rarely saw any P-car in general. At stop lights I can feel all the eyes staring at ya.

They just started a ferry service there and you can actually take your car with you and go Island hopping. That would be fun.

Kailua is a fantastic place to be on Oahu, you will love the beaches there.

At Kailua Beach Park be sure to stop at Buzz's on the beach for a beer! :D
Good luck!

tantalus is the best, then i would have to say the drive around the east side between sandy beach and hawaii kai
there's a motorcycle road near kailua called "thirteen corners" because it has 13 corners :)
i drove tail of the dragon in the beginning of june, so i am no longer excited about driving curvy roads in hawaii :)
