Traveling home for lunch, top down of course, I hear a loud smack , first behind me then in front at the windshield!
Then a rock appears just in front of the instrument cluster.
At first I was ready to blame some little brat with a sling shot, then I figured I should do a little CSI'ing a figure this out.
A rock likely thrown from a vehicle tire ahead of me went over the windshield, hit the roll bar then bounced forward against the dash then hit the windshield.
It didn't cut the roll bar padding but did gouge the dash plastic and chip the interior of windshield.
Nobody was sitting in the right seat and a good thing because a little to the right and it could have taken out an eye!
In retrospect, I can now understand the need to have the roof up during a DE session and that sunglasses may be a little more then cool when motoring about top down, they might save your sight.
