Voxster, while I agree with you about the back-and-forth pow-pow, I actually appreciate the initial post that the potential buyer made. Let me elaborate. Though it wasn't Spiral's fault, and he probably would've disclosed the issues/fixes to the next buyer, if I were a potential buyer then I would certainly appreciate knowing as much about the car as I could, regardless of the source.

I recall paying for the PPI for an older 911, discovering that it had broken head studs (deal breaker for me, as it would've costed $5-6k to repair IIRC), and subsequently realizing that the owner knew about it all along. I could've saved $200 or so spent on the PPI had I known.

So, I do appreciate veloce986's post about the 'issues' he discovered, but don't care for what ensued.
 
Hey Gerry, in the spirit of hijacking this thread, you are crazy for even thinking about skydiving! I know I would be scared as sh!t - never had an affinity for heights.

Btw, I'm going to be in Vegas around the time you are leaving - flying in on the night of the 23rd, but the conference hotel is away from strip. Will try to sync up if I get there in time.

Oh, and be sure to make a video of the skydive - that'd be fun to watch!
 
you'll be in vegas this weekend too? we will be @ LV on friday and Tao Venetian on saturday night, will head back home sunday afternoon..let me know if you dont' have my cell #

I have no problem with Stu posting the findings of the inspection. It was his characterization of the findings and innuendo that I didn't appreciate. It would have sufficed to say that there was an inspection done and it turned up some issues, and to contact Porsche of Fremont for details. People can come to their own conclusions when given accurate information from the professionals. The cost he gave for repairs did not correlate with what the dealer told us, and he chose to use words like "Beware!" and "fiasco".

Clearly, Stu's intent was to scare off any potential buyers (which he was successful at), because he was bitter about our failed transaction. This was all to my surprise. When we parted ways, it was amicable (he even asked me to keep in touch regarding the repairs, in case we were able to still come to an agreement), so I really wished he would have taken it up with me personally if he had a problem with our dealings.

Spiral, I re-read Stu's original post and started a post to respond to your note above, but decided against posting it. No point prolonging or dwelling on this issue.

Moving on to brighter topics, you have a very nice car (what I recall from the ad), and you should definitely make it to one of our next drives, whenever that happens!
