GGR AX #1 at Alameda point

must have a Snell 95 or newer. SA or M are both OK. Snell 2000 highly recommended.:)

We have many loaner helmets, so if you do not have a chance to pick up a new one, we have you covered.
Just make sure to get to the site fairly early. since if we have lots of newbies, they go pretty quickly.

Got it. I'll leave it home. How do I dispose of it?

Anyone going to/want to "caravan" to alameda? I'll probably leave at Oh my goodness its early A.M.

Latte or water

OK, I know most of you Boxster drivers would rather drive around with the top down and a Latte in the cup holder...

come on out and see if you can run down the Puttputt....

Humm no latte in my S but keeps water bottle cold. Can I beat Puttputt, not sure.

Mike:):)

OK, only two days to go....we run rain or shine.

I know that could be a problem for some of you:D

wouldn't want the *garage queen* to get wet.;)

even the early 986s had cupholders.....they just snapped into the left and right air vents:eek:

didn't work too well....:(

wouldn't hold your double lattes:D

Rain or Shine

and for those of you who wonder about rain:
Check this out to see how much fun A/X in the rain is  :) :D

Ok quit making fun of me. I'm going rain or shine. Funny thing is in the 5 years I have owned my car, I have only driven it in the rain maybe 5 times. The first time was the first day I got it, driving it home in the rain. I even put on the hard top tonight for tomorrow and had to take off 2 years worth of dust on it!:D

So how did the Latte drinking contingent fair yesterday;)

Saw lots of Boxsters and quite a few Cayman..........so how did you guys do.

1:08+ for the Puttputt....how about you?:D

First of all, it was great fun! I was/am amazed at how well the car performed. It just went exactly where I wanted!!!:D

My best run was a 1:14 (with a cone).

How long until the results are posted? Where's the best place to find them?

historically the results should be posted some time this week.
they will be posted on the GGR website under AX.:)

Glad you had a good time.

over a minute!!! wow.

what were the fastest times of the day? 60 seconds is an eternity on an Autox course. did people start forgetting what the finish looked like? ; )

fastest times that I saw was 1:02, 1:05, 1:05 for the top 3...we will see soon:D

all I could say is the course is really long and I love it. I think i have the most DNF that day (5 out of 6) and my best time was 1:19. Car# 317

I'm having so much fun in there that I forgot how to read the course...hehehehehe! Actually it was on the last run that I really focus on reading the cones!

Can't wait on the next one and I finally convince my wife to try it out...wohooo more reason for me to go AX'ing!

Hey Gerry, sure sounds like you had a lot of fun! Sorry I missed your call that day, I saw it too late, and I didn't want to disturb you as by that time you were AX'ing.

Had I realized how many DNFs you were going to have, I might have called up to chat with you :D . I was out pretty late on Fri night/Sat morning, and ended up not even making it to RMG's tech session on sat which I really wanted to. Oh well!

Me and my wife where at the AX. Our first one, in a silver modded cayman, with just 1500 miles on it.

Thought it was really hard at first. as the course was very technical. Even the experienced rivers where having trouble not DNFing in the morning!

I did not figure it out until our instructor told me to drive it like a Kart track and not race track, and i started to not DNF and knock off 3 seconds a run.

My wife had a Great time too, we will be back to most of them!

Did see one stock Cayman, do a 107... my best was 123.. ( long way to go.. )

regards

David
