Sorry Dan,

the weather and the snow are still too good.
It's still snowboarding season for me, I'll be @ Sierra Fri/Sat.
I'll do the switch to AX/DE season next month though :D

I know I need a helmet, but what are the specs and where is the best place to get one?

If you attend a GGR event we have loaner helmets.:D
Most of the PCA clubs do, we try to be accommodating to newbies.
You never know if you will really like it enough, and participate enough to spend the $$ on your own helmet. This way you can try it a few times and then when you get hooked (and you will get hooked) you can then go out and buy your own.
Right now the helmet needs to be SA (auto) M (motorcycle) with a Snell rating of 2000 or 2005. The 2010 Snell rated helmets won't be out for a few more months more than likely.;)

Nice lightweight Carrera 5 spokes with street tires are off.
Ugly-ass turbo twists with DOT-R's are on.

Ready to go. A day early even.....

I'm leaving from Pleasanton, but I'll be on the road at 6:30 since I'll be helping set up the course.
Wilson, you should plan to arrive around 7:30 or 7:45. Did you register? If so you should have received an e-mail with the details.

I've never been to the AX location and will be coming from Rohnert Park so do I take 580 to 980 (Oakland), to the 880 and get off on Broadway/Alameda, go right on 5th to the tube to Atlantic and go right to Main St. and go right to the end of Main? Is there something I can plug into a GPS to locate the site?

put the intersection of Main Street and Navy Way, Alameda, CA into your GPS. Should take you right there.
Pretty good instructions on the GGR website as well:
http://www.pca-ggr.org/node/110

Thanks Demick I saw the ggr site directions but none start coming south on 101 and don't mention Navy Way. I also couldn't find Broadway/Alameda exit on my Google map and trying to read printed instructions that early in the morning is not an option anymore.:)

Good for you, I have two sets of turbo twists (a.k.a. "boat anchors") for street and DOT-R :(
Greetings from South Lake Tahoe
