I'll load a few jpegs to give you an idea.

First.... cut the holes
2nd.... make a frame to support the grilles
3rd... install

looks great Ken but, pardon my asking, what is the point?;)

and isn't the inside of you rear trunk going to get a bit damp?

I beat Porsche to the "new" 356

.... just being retro, Dan. It's a spare deck lid I got at Partsheaven and decided to have fun with it. Not a rainy day item. I'm thinking about other items to vent the engine compartment heat through the grilles.

I tell people I decided to go back to air cooled.

fun project Ken. what did you use to cut the opening? Jigsaw, pneumatic nippers, sawzall:eek:? Where did you get the grill?

Everything with a $15 Harbor Freight angle grinder.... then deburr. I figured if the grinder lasted as long as the project, it's okay.

nice, sometimes with a cheap tool, you just want it to last thru the one project, anything after that is gravey.:D

Now your talking my language. Being a Early 356 freak I would have to go with a single grill:rolleyes: Tell people that your IMS went, and instead of replacing that old 3.2 you decided to grab that old S 90 1600 that was sitting in the basement and give it a go. Think of all the lbs you will save by getting rid of all those radiators, and coolant:D

Sort of brings new meaning to tail gate party?

kj

Sorry.... my first Porsche was a '65C. So, gotta go with 2 grilles.

You could just install a charcoal bucket under the grills in the trunk and have the perfect drive and grill football car. Who knows it might catch on and Porsche could produce a commemorative Tail Gate Roadster (The Boxster TG?).

You do have the coolest deck lid ever. If you wanted to go really retro maybe add the humps?
