I recently bought what I thought was a STEAL on Ebay. A 1998 NEW never used Boxster hardtop for $800. Yes It was new and it looked like it belongs to a Porsche but when attempting to put it on my car (without the spinlocks installed) it became apparent that we are looking at a different hardtop. The lance/male attachments on the hardtop go right to the rear part of the softtop fabric. QUESTION: How can I determine what car this hardtop goes to? Where is the Part number inscribed. I suspect this top is to a 911.Please see attached photos. Thank You guys for your help.

Bummer. You're probably right though as that doesn't look like my hardtop. While the general shape is the same the rear portion is quite different.

Yep Tom,
Looks like a 911 Cab hardtop to me...glass is too large and the B pillar is a different shape than a Box top. :(

I bet you guys are right. The Trick is finding out what year I am looking at so I can resell it. Thanks for your quick replies

Should fit any year 996 I believe.

Just like the 986 hardtops they will all interchange with regard to year.
