Here's the information on the Porsche Owners Club event:

http://www.porscheclub.com/events/EventCalendar/SE67-Info.html

There's a $10 paddock entrance fee and the $20 donation to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for the parade laps on the track.

In past years we all met up at the Albertsons on 129 Bernal Rd. at 9:00 am. We leave by 9:30 am for a 2 hour scenic backroads drive to Laguna Seca.

Here's the route: http://hverheyen.vssi-eda.com/box_p..._seca/index.htm

It not just about doing a couple parade laps on the track, we're helping out a worthy charity and doing a nice backroads drive.

Come on Gerry and everyone, lets go cruzin.......

ahhh..there it is, I was going to copy and paste it on this thread but yuo already posted it...Thanks, dude! I'll see you saturday....

now back to work :(

Thanks for the correction.

Akif are you going?
The page list the qualifications as:

"Qualifications: This event requires POC or PRC membership and a 2007 POC Competition License for all drivers. If you are a licensed driver with another Club, you may be eligible to enter the POC Time Trial Series and/or the Cup Races. E-mail Jeff Melnik at summbeach@aol.com for licensing questions and car qualifications."

I don't qualify :o

Plus, I have a screw in one of my front tires, and now it needs filling every 2nd day. I've ordered new tires already, and they should be here sometime next week. Depends on whether I have new tires, and if I don't, then how brave I feel :), and if I'm reading the qualifications incorrectly.

I think the qualification only applies for the driver who's actually participating in the race but not for us who didn't qualified and only going for the lap parade to be a parade king and queen :D

There is no membership or license required to participate in the parade laps.

Just show up.

Today, I scouted out the backroads route we will be taking on Aug. 25th (Saturday). It's a very scenic route and I highly recommend everyone join us on the drive to Laguna Seca.

Here's the information for the backroads drive to Laguna Seca and parade laps:

There's a $10 paddock entrance fee and the $20 donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for the parade laps on the track. There is no registration, permit or special license required to participate in the parade laps.

We will meet up at the Albertsons on 129 Bernal Rd. San Jose at 9:00 am. Remember, we will leave at 9:30 a.m. sharp for a 1.5 hour scenic backroads drive to Laguna Seca. Maps and directions will be provided the day of the event (9:15am drivers meeting).

Ah yes, Dr. Chris....

usually in the paddock he has a mocked up light bar for the roof also:D

that car has had more photos taken with CHP and other cops next to it than just about any other race car ever.

I think I'd be more excited and awestruck like a kid if I got pulled over by that guy. After he gives the ticket and drives off - that's when it'll hit me... it's just another traffic ticket

On the other hand, if I can engage him in a car conversation :p, maybe he can clear the traffic as we go for a spirited run :D (ok - I'm stealing the idea from a commercial, I believe for a Mustang).
