Pictures of the car that night.

Yes I had to wash the car before putting it in the garage. And yes it was 11:30pm. My neighbors must have thought I was crazy washing my car in January @ 11:30pm...

I really like the painted wheels that match the body. Anyone know if you can have existing aluminum wheels powder coated to match the car or do you need to purchase new?

Looks like it was worth the wait. What are the stripes? Is it a special model?

Yes. This is the Porsche Design Edition 2. This edition didn't receive as much publicity as the RS60 Spyder but it is based on that model and have the same specs. It came out immidiately after the RS60 Spyder sold out. 500 made for ditribution but only 50 of these came to North America. I think the economy had a lot to do with the lack of publicity. These models went into production in late 2008.

The car looks so much better in person than pictures. At first I didn't like the looks of the white wheels but seeing it in person really looks great and good color combo.

Congrats Efren! I must admit, I'm not normally a fan of white P-Cars, with two exceptions, the PDE2 and the 986 Rich in Almaden used to own.

I see you're getting good at cleaning those wheels... a skill that will not go wasted. ;)

Enjoy!

I like the white wheels but they will be a beach to keep clean.

Beautiful but you have to bring it to the next Brunch so we all can see it. :)

George

Hey George,
Yes I will be bringing this to the next brunch that I'm able to attend.

Can you believe this car was bought due to the last Porsche brunch? If you remember correctly we sat in the main dining room since the back was overbooked. The two gentlemen we sat with had new Boxster/Cayman. One had the RS60 Spyder which he kindly gave the keys to me so I can look at it. The other gentleman had the orange Cayman S Sport. I forgot their names tho but I need to thank them.

In the past I always had the no room in the garage excuse not to buy another one since my wife knows I don't like my cars sitting outside. Well a nice car cover takes care of that. The other excuse was is it the right time. I think even Carol overheard me telling my wife that I'd rather enjoy it now rather than when I'm too old to drive it.

That's all it took.

White wheels will be hard to keep clean was my first thought too but if you look at the arrival pictures you can see that the wheels didn't look filthy from camera angles. This car had a 3000 mile trek to my house this past two weeks. Besides this car will not be driven much since it's my third Porsche (2nd Boxster) and the newest of the 3.

Thanks Bob.... I've had a big grin on my face since Wednesday night.:D

One word- brake dust.:D

Looks nice! I'd be interested in seeing some interior pics, too, if you have a chance.

Did you get the watch, too?

This is going to be a long story.

I haven't had much chance to really play with the car yet so I don't have any int pics yet other than ones from the dealer.

Unfortunately no I didn't get the watch. This was slightly used and had 1080 miles. I intend to see if the original owner would be willing to sell the watch to me. This car was actuallly the third PDE2 I was after. The first one was new and I started on that car during the Thanksgiving weekend. As I started to negotiate it turns out they took the stripes off. I was really disappointed but used that to negotiate anyway. We came to an agreement and started to work out details. In the end we were ready to exchange funds and schedule the car for shipment. The GM decided since I lready have an excellent deal on the car the watch is not coming with the car. I said well. You took the stripes off and now you won't allow the watch to go with the car. I called the deal off. The car is still for sale today with no stripes.

The second car was also brand new and was located in Arlington, Va. A guy from Rennlist beat me to it.

I saw this one on Dec 20. I finally reached the deal on Dec 24. My salesperson is still in touch with the original owner. He barely had this car for 6 months before trading it in for a new Panamera turbo.

Efren, bro! Like what I said in your previous post.......it's just me who's lurking at your driveway..hehehehe!

Nice..very nice :-) I will call you one weekend to see it in private since I only live less than 5 mi. from your place (Saratoga/Williams)

and next time you go to LA...just let me be your driveway/garage sitter..if you ever need one..LOL!

Hey Gerry,
Anytime. Just send me a pm or call me. Some of my 951 friends are coming by today to see the car.

If you haven't driven a 987 S specially a stick, you just have to. They are sweeeeetttt. With me having driven an 02 S Tiptronic. What a difference.

I can't seem to stay away from the garage. After a long morning drive I decided to put all three together. Now it's time for a deserving nap....

Here's more pics.
