PCA auto x event at candlestick this sat.

might drop by to visit for a bit.

motor still not back together and into the Puttputt.:( but I should be ready for #2.

Ken, did you get a new assigned number for this year?
Did you get your seat situation figured out?

just wondering what is the cost of the event and what form of payment is acceptable..this is my first time participating in the pca autox event...thanks!

I believe that the cost is still $30 as it has been for several years now. I would be prepared to pay $35 just in case. Cash and checks are the only way you can pay.
You have to be registered before 8:30 AM and have your car teched.
You want to be there early enough so you can do a course walk. Try to pair/group up with an instructor for the course walk,,,it will help.

You will need a helmet, loaners are available if you get there early enough to get one (they go pretty fast at some events)
If you have no or limited AX experience ask for instruction after the drivers meeting.
If you want more general information you can get it by going to the Articles link at the top of the page and read my AX article from a couple of years ago.:D

good luck and hope you enjoy yourself ( I know you will leave with a big grin on your face), saying to yourself "I had no idea my car would do that"

Thanks for the info..i guess one last question would be how many runs do you get approximately?

8 timed runs that go into the book and then if there is enough time at the end of the day and enough folks that want to stay, then we have "FUN" runs. that can amount to 4-8 more runs depending on how many folks stay.:D

Well, i think the event starts at 830am so i think you can drop by for few hrs before partying..check your PM for my #..

Dan,

Yes, a new perm #. I spoke with Larry and mentioned that the "real" #44 (Mat) hasn't actually AXed in many, many years and I've been waiting those many years for a chance to pick that number up. But, if there's an unlikely conflict, I'll be happy to defer.

Have not decided what to do with my brand new Recaro SPG XL. I'm still considering just chopping the top off and getting it as far back as possible. My main concern was with running V710s and getting tossed around with the fragility of my back. I played with SCCA last Sunday and it worked out okay (so far, so good).

Cool about the number...
those low numbers are hard to come by these days with so many different folks participating.:D

It only took me 16 years to get #5.....the single digit numbers are even tougher to get;)

So have you cut up your new seat or are you just still thinking about it?

I'll be there, no doubt :D
does anyone know when registration starts? 7:30?

You can still play - even if you're not a PCA member. You just have to drive your Porsche and pay $5 extra I believe. But joining is worth the monthly publication on its own - plus many other perks.

Yap...I signed up for 2 years @ the PCA GG last night and just waiting for the approval or something like that and for the membership card. I would love to go but my new 18" wheels are being installed today so, Im not really sure if I want to bless my new wheels on AX...hehehehehehe! but I will be there to meet some of you guys and probably get some pointer before I go on the next AX :)
