Yap...I signed up for 2 years @ the PCA GG last night and just waiting for the approval or something like that and for the membership card. I would love to go but my new 18" wheels are being installed today so, Im not really sure if I want to bless my new wheels on AX...hehehehehehe! but I will be there to meet some of you guys and probably get some pointer before I go on the next AX :)

Hey Gerry..................
now you have to change your pic on this site!!! with your new wheels !!

Dan, I thought you were getting a new engine so you could donate your old one to Ken Jones as a performance improvement over his current engine.

Doug

Doug,

I told Dan I was considering that 1.7 ltr so I could run in AX 37, but he didn't believe me.

If you handle the labor and logistics, I'll swap engines with ya. But I think you're getting the short end of the stick. ;)

I should be picking up all my bottom end stuff from the machine shop tomorrow. That will go together while I am waiting for the heads to be done.
All of my engine tin is now painted Phoenix Red, along with the engine compartment. After I get it all together it should run much stronger than it did last year.:D
Should bump my HP number by about 20 when all done.
Still running stock injection so I am limited on how radical a cam I can run. But a 20 HP bump is about a 20% improvement so it should be pretty nice.
Fresh axles and CVs along with new shifter bushings and some other assorted goodies.
Ken can swap with me if he likes but I think he will be down grading drastically:rolleyes:
My goal is to get my car into the top 10-15 this year. I was in the top 17 or so several times last year with the tired old motor...;)

What were you driving last year, the 914 or the Boxster?

I don't know if you just don't like autoxing the Boxster anymore but all it takes for that car to hit the top 5 overall is a set of Hoosiers. I ran 225/245 b/c I didn't want to buy new wheels and that was the best I could get on the OEM 17s.

I talked to a guy that does Elise stuff and got the 411 on theeee setup. Here's the kick. The winning combo for Elises is a set of $600 wheels and some Goodyears that are supposed to be way stickier than AX Hoosiers. Mmmmn. I can't wait. And thx to the cheap-as-hell price, I won't have to.

914 all last season...that is what I built/building it for.:D
I love a challenge and getting a 2.0L 33 year old car in the top ten is my challenge this season.

Today was such a fun day..first time for me to autox with the PCA..was able to shave off about 9 seconds from my first run to my last run so i am pretty happy with my result in the "fun" class...Glad to see Dede and Gerry out there and you guys should run next time also!!!

I can't wait to see your car. They may be old but it seems like the cars that impress me the most are always the 914s.

here you go Scott, my 1974 2.0L 914 prepped for AX and DE/TT

Thanks Scott, not concourse but very presentable for a track/Ax car.
I would probably do pretty well at a concourse in the racecar division.:)
