Rennsport Reunion IV

Depending on when you got your parking pass, you might be parking in one of the dirt lots anyway! :o

I did 'Dirt lot parking" but at least they separated the cars by Porsche vs. the rest of the world, which was a nice touch :D

Great photos. Some of the ones of the boxster corral look like you took them from the same angle I did for mine. I got dirt lot also, but in Purple Parking 11, in with almost all non-porsches.

Great pics, Chris. I noticed a few "wrong way" cars, did they spin off the track? It was a togh weekend for racers, R.I.P Dan Wheldon. :(

Good observation Bob. It was pretty cold and foggy in the morning (I think it took until 1:30 PM until the sun came through and the track warmed up). Consequently a lot of cars had trouble finding mechanical grip. This lead to to the strange situation that the "top of the foodchain" 956 and 962 couldn't get the power to the ground and had no grip in turns and were constantly passed by normally slower cars.
I am attaching 3 pictures of the blue Cup Car. He spun out and ended up inside turn 8 (corkscrew). Then he decided to roll back across the track and eventually rejoined the race. If I had done such a maneuver at a PCA event, the marshalls would have (rightfully) sent me packing. We all held our breath when we saw him doing this. Fortunately nothing happened.

You are right about that Chris! Ken and I would have a very dim view of that maneuver...:(
Lucky no one came bombing over the top....flaggers must have been on their toes.:)
