I just bought the B&M, my question...anyone about to install a short shift and might I be witness? I'm not asking for someone to help me with my install, I just want to see how it's done before I attempt. Of course, if there are a number of us we can start an assembly line.

Thanks,
Iko in the East Bay.

Where are you, Iko? I am in Oakland and have not ordered mine but plan to do so in the next day or so. I'd be interested in getting together with you to make this happen. There are plenty of pics here on this site and with the instructions we oughta be able to muddle through.

I'm in Oakland as well. Email me once you've ordered/received and we'll figure something out.

I presume there is no difference with the install between an 05 and my 01S.

Hmmm...I don't know. I will let you know when it arrives.

I'd like to watch/help. I already have a sports shifter, so just wanna hang out with some boxster-loving folks, etc.

Excellent. Could use all the help I can get.

Does anyone have a 30 Torx tool? I guess it's not something I have in my tool box. Apparently, I need a size 10 Torx tool for my BMW too... What's with all these torx screws???

Well, if schedules work out and someone has the size 30 Torx, then maybe I can some hang out too. (I need to do the horn bushing fix.)

T30 is a common size though not all the sets include it. I've got one in my "do it all" tool set that I haul around.

If others are interested I'm willing to host a work day at my place in Pleasanton.

Tom, could you take pictures of the event you are hosting for those of us who aren't lucky enough  to live on the left coast? I would love to attend something like this.

I too have the B&M Shifter waiting to be installed in my '03 S. I also have the T-30 bit. Saturdays are the best day for me. Let me know when and where you guys plan to have it as soon as you can. I'm across the bay from you guys.

Tom, thanks for your offer to host a few of us. Only to get the ball rolling, might I suggest November 18th or December 2nd?

My shifter arrived today. I think I am available this week end but Dec. still works.

The offer of doing this at my place in Pleasanton still stands as soon as we can confirm a date.

December 2nd is good for me too. My calendar is booked in November. All involved should send me a PM with their email addresses and I'll organize off list. Thanks Tom for your help and hosting us.

Hmmm... Saturdays... Usually I have to leave by 11:00am on Saturdays, just like on TechDay. I don't know if you guys are willing to wake up so early on Saturday. Well, just see how it goes. Don't mind me.

Sorry, I just couldn't wait, guys. Had my shifter installed at a local independent Porsche mechanic. It's pretty cool. :D Haven't really put it to the test yet as I had to drive home in rush (yeah right) hour traffic.

LOL i knew you couldn't wait..... please post your impressions and thoughts. i have thought this will be my next candy. i would love to know what you think.
