thought some of you might be interested in this.
This morning we started with a very nice '97 Boxster and by late this afternoon we were well on our way to a spec Boxster.
GT3 sway bars, tarret sway bar links, new drilled rotors, new PSS9s with stiffer springs, gutted interior, top and stock roll bar removed (getting ready for a custom built roll cage.)
And lots more.:D

here is the link to pics and some narration.... http://www.914club.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=62696

This was done today by a few 914 owners along with a couple of 914/Boxster owners

Cool stuff. I'd pay an entry fee (translate beer and pizza :)) to be able to watch this up close and personal.

Hello, Dan. Though I have friends who are into this sort of thing, I myself have never so much as performed an oil change. I've always just been glad to be around the vehicles, or ride or drive them.

It's amazing what you folks do!

Regards,

Snaxster

I think I can hear Ken saying, "We don't need no stinkin' spring compressors!" Thanks for the pix.

How close is the car to Sacramento and it is possible to pay a fee to be a passenger in a spirited ride?

the car is in San Jose, and will be out for it's maiden voyage this Saturday at a GGR AX (in Alameda) to work on Suspension settings.

Okay...

who's hiding behind Arenared? Hint please - a few of us have wondered for some time. :)

I'm terrible with names, but I recognize a few faces from local get-togethers. Ken is about the only one I can remember the name. He gives a pretty convincing story to AX my car, which is arena red ;)

It isn't me...

...despite the fact that on my web site I call the blog section "arena red" for obvious reasons.

Relax, you worry too much

If I've met you, it was maybe only once. I go by 'mee' on some of the boards. That was the 'hint' for Ken.

Is this your Guards Red Boxster on the left? Mine is on the right. OK, enough hijacking of this otherwise fine thread ;)

Would the jig be up if I said.... Brett?... the M.E.

KenJ, I knew you'd only need a little hint to remember the 'mee' association! You have a good memory on the other details. Sorry, yours was the only one I could put a name on although I recognize a few others.

OK, now that the formalities are over, is that really a GT3 rear bar? I had a TRG rear bar which only has 2 rear adjustment holes, so that's not it. The Tarret rear track rods look nice. Glad Dan or whoever found different springs for the PSS9s. There weren't any when I was looking at them several years ago.

Good luck with the Boxster Spec project over there.

I think it's the new Tarett rear bar - Dan, correct me if I'm wrong. Ira has had it out a few months now I believe.
