What is the best upgrade you have done to your Boxster and why? This is a curiosity question from a new owner. Please try to list only one but the best one and the year of your Boxster.

learn to drive your Boxster before you start making upgrades...

teach yourself to drive it, then make upgrades. That way you can tell if it is your driving or the ever improvement of the mechanicals of the car...;)

I am Doc, this is for fun.:D

after you learn to drive the car to it's potential, the next best thing you can do is to get yourself some DOT R tires for AX and track duty...along with a good alignment to maximize your camber.

Although I appreciate the advice this post isn't for me it was to find out what other Boxster owners think is the best mod they've done. For example Doc my favorite mod for my Box so far is changing my four spoke wheel out to a three spoke dark burl wood wheel with a matching shift knob. It doesn't make me a better driver of the car but it does enhance my driving experience because of the way it looks and feels to me.

De-ambering the car... Followed by the 3 spoke... And lastly the exhaust for a much nicer sound..

De-snorking...

it is free and the car sounds much better above 3500 rpms:D

Every single one of them...

Pedro I broke out in a sweat from exhaustion reading your mods and I would really like to see some picks of your car. Your techno brace is on my list of mods for this winter while there is a break in AX but I'm really interested in this mod of yours: "Modified Muffler to PSE (Pedro Sport Exhaust) specs."
Would you care to share what you did? Thanks for the post!:D

Wow, Pedro, that is quite the list. Stupid question: where is the umbrella holder? (not that I need one in Nevada) Jeanne T

Thanks for the link Mike that was an interesting read but brings up some questions for me. Sportech, in Campbell, CA, markets a stock muffler that has had the baffles removed. They claim a provable 11 HP increase, no resonance and an exhaust note improvement. Removing the baffles will also decrease the weight of the stock system. Has anyone installed their muffler? I understand HP increases are all over the board when it comes to exhaust systems so it is not the main point of my curiosity. Also, Pedro, what is your favorite mod out of all those? Thanks BoxsterBob I was wondering what the heck that tray was for besides collecting unwanted stuff. It's raining and a crappy day here and I'm looking forward to Redwoods last AX of the year this Saturday.:D

there are several folks here and otherwise that have the Sportech modified muffler.
Clemson and Chris to name a couple...
The modified muffler was tested on a dyno on the exact same car with no other modifications and achieved a peak increase of 11 hp and 13Lbft of torque at ~4,500 RPMs.
Yes, every car is different, and so are the dynos.
The important thing is it did not hurt the power of the motor at any RPM, and sounds very nice.
and when it is all said and done, the muffler still looks stock...:D
and it does weigh several pounds less after the modification.

Upgrades

Well obvioulsy no one can keep up with Pedro but my box had a number of upgrades when I bought it last year (chipped, lowered, stainless exhaust, side skirts, spoiler and de-emplemed) and some that I did not like; repainted console silver, replaced seats withh crappy recaro vinyl knockoffs, took out amplfier and put in low end radio).

My upgrades include replacing seats from a 911, changed out console to black leather, automated top as Pedro did, Das shield in trunks and Boxster sill plates.

But my favorite was putting in a Pioneer Avic 910 Navigation, XM blue tooth radio, new amp and speakers.

Now it looks great and sounds great.:D

Silverstar H7 bulbs

Pedro, I am thinking of installing the silverstar H7 headlight in the low, high, and fog like you have. Just wondering if you could tell a difference. Thanks.

Removing the windshield. I can catch bugs with my teeth now. :D After that it would have to be yanking headlight canisters out of the car. Dang! do you know how easy it is to pull headlights? 1/4 click and those big clunky plastic bazookas slide right out! Who needs lights when you can wear a pair of infrared goggles. Great fun sneaking up on people on dark mountain roads.

..and you guys think I'm kidding.
