For years or as long as I can remember whenever I drive my car and park in the garage I always open the hood to cool the engine bay. I even went as far as putting a fan in front of the engine bay. My wife used to laugh at me. My theory is the cooler the engine bay the less wear on the car/paint.

Now my wife does the same thing to her car whenever she drives it. She's always put the fan next to the engine bay intake. She didn't miss a day yet...... Now if I can only get her to help me keep her car clean.

but... shouldn't she have the fan facing parallel to the car to draw out the hot air? this way, isn't she pushing the air back in?
 
This works in blowing cool air into the engine compartment. You can feel air circulating from the bottom of the car. I thought it was funny seiing my wife do this too since she used to laugh at me all the time.
 
You've got a smart wife - not because the fan thing is useful - but because often times giving in to silly things to satisfy the spouse is far better than fighting it on principle.

I imagine every time she sets up the fan she thinks to herself "the things I do for that man......" :-)
 
Yeah, but can you get her to put the toilet seat back up for you?
 
I'm thinking there is a better use for the fan. :rolleyes:


...and you know there is a fan that Porsche put on the other side of that vent. Just not sure when it runs as I removed mine.
