All those weekends my wife and I spent in LA has finally paid off. My dughter who has been studying for her medical board exam for the last 8 months has finally taken the exam on Tuesday and got the good news today that she made it. All those years of school. 4 yrs of college, 4 yrs Med school, 1 yr intern and 4 yrs of residency it's finally over. Well not quite she has one more year of Fellowship.

My other daughter who is Vet and doing a 1 yr intern at Ohio State is finally coming home too at the end of the month.

Sorry I just had to post somewhere as i am too excited and i'm a proud daddy.

Now that both are almost ready to work real jobs maybe I can retire..... Well maybe not quite. I promised myself I need to buy one more new car before retiring....

cas, congrats to you and your wife for raising two wonderful children... i have 3 young ones and hope and pray they turn out to be caring, great, giving people... being doctors wouldn't be too bad...:)

now you have to tell the kids that daddy needs a toy for a sign of thanks for all he has done.....:D congrats again!!!

Congrats Efren! This is wonderful news. Mike is right - you deserve a new toy as thanks (a newer Porsche turbo to update the one you have, perhaps? ;) )

Thanks guys. It was a big relief knowing all her hard work and our sacrifices paid off. Imagine most of my weekends for the last year was spent in LA watching our grandkids while my daughter locked herself in her room to study. It was the only chance she had to study due to working full time and having two kids and her husband being a doctor is also on call.

My new toy maybe a Harley. We'll have to see.

Also just returned from the Brunch and George's house. Had a great time. Now I'm off to tackle the brakes, spark plugs and tube replacement. Tomorrow is Part Heaven day so basically it will be a Porsche weekend for me.

Bringing an old thread back to life.

Well, I pulled the trigger and bought another toy. During the last brunch at Alices earlier this month really made me want a Boxster S Design Edition 2 since I haven't seen one here yet. Seeing the RS60 Spyder and the Cayman RS (?) at Alices really made me think why not.

After a week of negotiating things are finally done and finally agreed on a price during Christmas eve. Now I have to wait a week or so to get it to my door. This is actually the 2nd car I've negotiated on. The first one was in Louisville, Ky. I ended up backing away from that one since they removed the stripes.

I am so excited but one of my cars have to be booted out of the garage.

Congratulations. :) Hopefully you and Cindy will bring it to the next Brunch. It's fun to see someones happiness and excitement with their new car.

Congrats on the new addition...just in time to get that tax credit for the year!! sweet ride..

Finally got out of the Kitchen. The wife is sure keeping me busy for New Years eve.

Yes we will probably bring both Boxsters to the next brunch if not all three cars if my daughter decides to come along again.

Efren, if you see someone peeking at your garage...please do not shoot...it's just me, drooling at your new LE II...hahaha! Nice, very nice!

Congrats, bro!

Thanks Gerry,

Don't peek too soon since it's not in the garage yet. I'm still arranging transport to Santa Clara from Conshohocken, PA.

Huge congrats to you sir! Well done on providing the best education for your kids.

I read your post and smiled to myself b/c my wife and I are currently in a similar situation (1 more kid left who is a senior in her MBA program), then we will have a lot more disposable capital to play with.

Like you, I plan to treat myself with a little home remodeling and new car as well.
