We will start the season at Alameda Point.:)
March 21 (Saturday)
almost time to get the car out of winter hibernation and actually drive it hard...
best way to avoid the dreaded RMS leak is to drive the thing:D

go to www.pca-ggr.org for more info on GGR AXs...click on the Autocross link

When is the first event?

Curious where majority of Boxsters are ending up class wise? I'm in the AX10 to AX 9 range depending how I setup the car. I'm going to try to put 8.5 wheels on front with fat tires so I can turn.

It would be nice to know what the hot classes will be this year. More fun to be in with lots of competition thats just over my head. I may just figure out where Ken J is driving and punish myself.

I did get some practice 2 weeks ago at Marina. ;)

If Ken runs his car as last year, then he will be in AX8.
Demick and I ran in AX10 with the 914s.

Grant,

I'm moving up to AX7 more than likely. I'm installing the Guard TBD and do not have enough other goodies (to eliminate) to offset the impact.

By the way, the last time I peeked - if you're running coil overs with adjustable platforms, you'll need to check both #65 and #67 for a total of 65 pts. That already puts you into AX9 if that's what you've got - along with what you've already reported.

If you're going to 8.5s all around with Hoosiers - you'll be formidable.

I havent formally entered all my mods yet I was just playing with different configurations to see how they impacted points. I'm finding all sorts of weight reduction opportunities that arent covered in the rules! No more fries for me! LOL!

Plan is to go with Hoosiers or Hankook race slicks on wider fronts. I have the studs and spacers coming.

AX 7 you say? http://comp.pca-ggr.org/rulcomm_cs/web/detail_classedcar.php?id=1302&s=0&t=ax&sf=grant&w=0&c=0&o=0 Hmmm this will be fun! I suspect with LSD and 3.2 your going to have a bit of an edge but my car is probably marginally lighter so who knows?

who else will come out to play?

everything I have heard, or read, indicates that we are still going to be at Alameda on 3/21:D

Well I have yet to try AX, but seeing as I live all of ten minutes from the point... how can I not go?

50/50 chance that I will be on a business trip to India
Otherwise I'll be there :D

Yeah!!! I will be there... not sure which car.
If I am in my Boxster, can I run BSX class? If not, I will be in AX14.
Anyway... I am excited!

it's getting closer....time to dust off the Garage Queen and take it out for a little excercise.:D

Pre registration at www.motorsportreg.com

we are going to pre reg, to streamline AX day registration and to facilitate our transition to paperless system using barcode reader....

DO NOT PAY ONLINE>>>>>>>>>:D

are all the Boxster pilots still sleeping?
Or are you all out admiring your last wax job?;)

it is AX time this Saturday at Alameda. Be sure to pre-register at www.Motorsportreg.com

time to start practicing.....there will be a Boxster Shootout later this year, so you better start practicing or KenJ is going to put you all to shame:D

very few of you had any luck at beating the old Puttputt, so now you can come out and take a shot at the "great white whale"

Have fun w/o me :)
Greetings from Pune, India
No Porsches around here, just Tatas, old Fiats and Morris'

see you at the next one Chris.:D

are you doing any DE/TTing this season?

Hi Dan,

one of the posters here has the tag line:
"I drive as fast as I can, but not any faster".
Well my DE/TT tagline for this year is a bit affected by our economy:
"I'll do as many DE/TT as I can afford, but not more" :D

So I plan to do at least one or two DE/TT this year (otherwise I would have wasted everyone's time with my endless tire discussion  - btw I have settled on the Nitto NT-05, thanks for the tip). However, due to scheduling problems I won't be able to make the upcoming T'Hill event. Hopefully the next one will work out for me. And if I would do only one DE/TT this year then it will be SEARS Point!

I'll also will be at Laguna Seca on 4/13 with NRCR, they had an incredible $189 deal, I believe Grant will there as well. Anyone else?

Chris, I hear you on the economy....
I am still looking for a second set of wheels for track/AX tires for the "Whale", but still waiting to see how the next month goes at my office.
If it is good, then the new wheels/tires will be on board for the next AX event.
If not, then I will be running the BFGs for a while longer....

$189 is a screaming deal for Laguna:eek:
