I've had my S for only 2 weeks and I've driven it only 3 times in that period. Mostly with my wife. I can't believe the attention I get from the Honda's with fart cans or S2000. Even the BMW's. These cars seems to Rev at me. Evertime I take the car out I get revved at. Anybody else get this? When I drive the 951 S I don't get that. I get the look but they don't rev. It get's irritating. I just ignore but I know one day it's going to get to me.

I guess it depends where you drive around. I've noticed that when I drive by an area where the teenage population is high, such as a high school, college, or mall, I'll get the revving Japanese Imports. However, I've gotten a few revving Corvettes in the middle of nowhere, such as on the way to Lake Tahoe.

Motorcycle riders rev at me too, but usually they do it to get my attention to either give me a head nod, to talk at a red light, or to ask me to get out of the way so they can squeeze between cars.

I've gotten it on the freeway while hauling my tires - with a kid in an old Camero slowing down to make sure I hear his pipes. Don't take it personally - kids just crave attention no matter who's next to them. They're still stupid and think getting attention by being obnoxious is better than no attention at all.

After owning my car for a couple of months, I'm yet to have anyone try to race/rev or do anything aggressive during the ~2k miles or so I've driven it. I did have one instance on Hwy 1 (while driving back from our camping trip in Big Sur) where a pickup would not budge out of the way for a loooong while. Thats about it.

Interesting problem, I can't say that I have noticed this very much at all. I think that there will always be those who want to have a go at a Porsche, same as there are always idiots who like to cut you off in a merge because rather then risk a fender bender then know you will back off.

It would be nice if they make it a prerequisite before issuing a drivers license that the person display intelligence and wisdom, but then again that may be asking too much! ;)

in two years this has happened twice. i take it as a compliment......

I must admit that I have entertained these advances once or twice in the past....When the time and place are right. I know its imature....but it can be fun. I usually dont react to advances on strait roads or to young import guys. Mainly because of safty and the fact that I dont want to get smoked by some kid in a hopped up Honda (My little 2.5 has never been accused of neck snapping accerleration):D.
I Did have a guy a couple of years ago in San Diego pull up to me in a full blown Dragster! Ok, im exagerating, it was this late model Camaro with a snorkel scoop, Wrinkle wall tires and sounded like open headers. I couldnt believe this thing was on the road. It had Kansas plates (I think the guy was in the military)? He yells over at a light...."Yu wana run dat Porchee?" I figure sure,..Now is a good time for a spanking from Don Garletts. So where off.....It sounded like a monster truck pull! Except hes not passing me??? Hes sliding all over...Smoke out of tires etc. He just never hooked up. At the next light hes says "Dam dat Porchee Hauls"! I just laughed and told him he scared the hell out of me and its time for me to go home and change my shorts! I thought he was going to fishtale right into my lane.....

Another reason to keep it on the track! Or just Auto X....The only thing to hit there are cones:)

you want attention....then tow your track car to some events.:) or to a car show....

I get those too, I really like it when I'm wearing the hat that my brother in law gave me and I turn and give them them look, and instantly they stop or slow down. The hat is a blue SFPD with a police sheild on it.

The reason I got so frustrated was one of those days it happened 3 times. I just ignore them.

I have cars of all sorts wanting to race me. I've had my 98 boxster for over 5 years. Still happens to this day. When on Hwy 1 going up through Fort Ross cars will automatically pull over to let me pass. It gives me a thrill and butterflies when they do this!
I have raced (althoughy not the brightest thing to do) with corvettes up through the altamont - and I am a women - good fun!

LOL. That's pretty funny! Actually, it very rarely happens to me. Maybe my car is of a boring color, or maybe I just look boring :D

With that said, I did have a Corvette want to play with me last night, but it was dark and I didn't feel like getting my @$$ whooped upon.

Ok ok... aside from the corvettes and Mercedes, I have to confess. I have given into a Japanese import twice. Once it was with an Acura Integra Type R which was fun... and another time was with a Honda Civic Hatchback. I figured that the Honda Civic Hatchbacks have 115 HP tops... until I heard this "ppppshhh" sound coming out of the engine bay and a tiny sticker that said "B18 Hybrid"... so much for that... little cars with turbocharged swapped motors....

I heard that sound too on a Honda Accord. I guess you never know what these cars have. In my younger days I'm sure I would have taken them up on it. But these days they're not even worth my gas let alone my safety. I've already totaled one of my previous Porsche. Not from racing but from stupidity. Dam tree got in the way. I honked at it but it wouldn't move so I ran right into it..... :D

I haven't had a chance to do it yet but I plan to say "I'll give you three car lengths in a race to the next light" then I will proceed to drive in the usual manor and hope there is a cop around to see them blast off.;)
