Woohoo! New Exhaust!

I'm starting to believe this is going to be a much better year than 2011 and in the saying "all things come to he who waits," or something to that effect. I waited around for a new top and finally bagged a new GAAH with glass window for $329 off eBay and have been flirting around with a Dansk muffler for a year now passing up used one's on eBay. The other day I decided to check out Craig's list and while perusing through the Porsche auto parts came across a nondescript ad heading for a Porsche performance muffler. Well, the ad turned out to be a new in box Dansk Sport muffler for the early Boxsters. The owner told me about he and his friends Boxster that got totaled at Willow Springs before they could put it on and it had set in his garage for too long so it now belongs to me for $350. He even threw in a new OEM cabin filter. I think Darlin' will look and sound real nice with her new muff. Thanks Ken!

Had that exact muffler on my '99. Nice score at that price.
Sounds nice, not obnoxious...really nice above about 3500 rpms
If you haven't already done so, do a desnork along with the muffler..you will love the mechanical music!

Did that Doc along with an EVOM CAI and headers. She should sound like a symphony. About a 15 lb. weight loss as well and no drone.

Evidentially, Ron is a bad influence on me -- now also I got this Dansk exhaust (and I even went to the same shop to install it):

How do you like it Peer? The tips on mine have turned a beautiful burnished gold color. Which Johnny Franklins did you go to?

Hi All,

Well it is finally drive time in Alaska and I am thinking about upgrades for my car with a new exhaust system being at the top of the list. Did you consider changing out the entire exhaust system vs just the muffler? I like the idea of throatier exhaust note and wonder if changing out the entire exhaust system with something like the Maxflo from Fabspeed is worth the extra cost. Would a Softronic DME upgrade if combined with the exhaust upgrade be something that would make a noticeable difference? Thanks for the input.
