Hi guys,

I recently got a silver 97 Boxster as a donor car for my SpecBoxster dream.
The interior will be torn apart pretty soon. If you have any need for some non-critical parts, please let me know.

Parts:
Soft top with motors
Air bags (driver, passenger, sides)
Air conditioner
Some carpets
Some center console pieces
Leather seats (driver, passenger) [not very good condition]
Spare tire
Bilstein Shocks
H&R Springs
Muffler
Cat Convertors
Window regulator
Set of 17" wheels (6.5" and 8") with good tires.

Let me know. I can save the parts for you.

window regulator, motor parts, microswitches?

kj

hi Ken, you mean I should add to the list... or you mean you want those?
I guess you want to add to the list. ... What engine parts and Microswitches?

I think Ken is looking for those parts, and they are all related to the door windows.:D

LOL! I just payed a hauler to take all my stuff away.

sure, I will try to save them for Ken.
But my passenger side window doesn't go up by itself with one click, I have to hold the up button to make it go up all the way.

Front hood latch release mechanism if yours is working properly and you want to sell it. Do you have any pics of the tires and wheels and what type of tires?

Ron, I will save that part for you, mine is functional currently. If not, I have a few spec Boxster guys, they will definitely have it for you.

I need a number of the under of pieces of plastic under panelling replaced. A fair amount of it is scuffed or torn. I don't know how much of that gets taken off in the BoxsterSpec conversion process. Until I get my car back on a lift and catalog what pieces need replacing, I cannot really supply part numbers. If you end up with a pile of these pieces, I'll come sift through it.

Money wise this can be a very slippery slope. :D
Keep us posted.

just for some information purposes.
Most of the stuff that comes off a Boxster to make it into a Spec Boxster is
interior (carpets, seats, door panels, console, etc), roll hoops, top and all mechanisms, door glass and all motors and switches, gut the dash board, A/C, stereo. Gut the front a rear trunks of all carpet, plastic panels, spare tire etc...most remove the rear spoiler actuator motor and put the spoiler in a permanent extended position.
Suspension struts are removed, springs are removed, front and rear sway bars are removed. Some folks also replace the rear tow links.
That is about it,,,other than exhaust which can only be modified beyond the stock exhaust manifolds...
All body panels must remain stock. All the under car cover panels stay in place as well.

Grant,

I had replied to your notice over on SpecBoxster a long time ago, but I'd figured you'd already gotten rid of them.

Hi Clemson,

Was wondering if you could save the window regulator motors and microswitches. I'm into my second driver's side regulator motor failure (of the pop-down feature when opening the door.

thanks,

kj

About the set of wheels.... I can't decide to keep or to sell at this point.

Ken

Window problem is generally the window regulator - not the motors. New regulators run around $180, and given how long (or short)they last, you're probably better off to replace with new, rather than one that could be up to 13 years old.

Clemson will you be at either the AX event at Alameda on 3/20/2010 or the Thunderhill track event the following weekend. If so I'll meet up with you there.
Thanks a bunch!
Ron

back to the drawing board...

Demick,

Semantics? The Porsche dealer mentioned regulator motor..... I got tangled up once before and 'Flintworks' tried to straighten me out.

The only thing I see on the attached illustration is for the 'regulator motor' (item #2). Doesn't it house the brains for the pop down feature? Your not referring to the microswitch as the regulator are you?

help me out here - again.

thanks,

kj
